David Lyons known for his character, General Sebastian “Bass” Monroe on the NBC hit show ‘Revolution’, makes his directorial debut at the Palm Springs Intl. Short Film Festival.

Lyons’ entry “Record” is a film about a father in mourning who struggles to connect with his blind daughter after their tragic loss. Steadfast in her refusal to face her fears, his daughter insists that her father also stays mired in the past. Now, he must see his wife’s memory through his daughters eyes before he can help them both move through their grief.

Filmed at a home on the Oregon Coast, which was set for demolition it is a simple yet visual masterpiece. The movie will tug at your heart strings but also leave you with a sense of hope which David says “the world needs more of.”

Before we sat down for this interview David had just arrived from Australia.
